We have recently changed our choice of language to Spanish to feed into our local secondary school’s MFL offer. We follow the Oak academy planning to ensure the children are exposed to accurate pronunciation and grammar.
In the Oaks the children focus on 2 units. Focusing on spoken language in Year 3 and introducing more written Spanish. These units are
Asà soy yo:
- Introducing and describing yourself in Spanish
- Saying your age in Spanish
- Months of the year in Spanish
- Saying your Birthday in Spanish
- Saying your name, age and birthday in Spanish.
Dónde vives?
- Saying you nationality in Spanish
- Saying which country you live in and which language you speak
- Saying which language you don’t speak, which country you don’t live in and which nationality you aren’t
- Saying where you live, your nationality and which language you speak
In the Mighty Oaks the chillden are exposed to more vocabulary with 6 more units
